The Go Between bridge is a 200 metre long balanced cantilever bridge with a 117 metre central span. Bonacci Infrastructure designed and documented the 29 metre long x 9 metre wide x 5 metre deep pile cap shells, including the installation methods and temporary works.
The shells were formed with precast concrete sections assembled out of nine individual components and were supported on temporary steel brackets welded to the pile liners. Each shell was filled with 720 cubic metres of concrete poured in two stages. The pile cap shell was constructed within the 2 metre tidal range of the Brisbane River.
