Bonacci Infrastructure was engaged to provide detailed designs for a range of structures at both the Amberley Air Base and as part of the Delamere Redevelopment project. Key structures included:
- 6SQN hangar and headquarters;
- Pod shop and attached Ground Support Equipment (GSE) shelter;
- Flightline shelters for new Australian Defence Force (ADF) aircraft;
- Air Combat Electronic Attack Systems Program Office (ACEASPO);
- Refurbishments and modifications to a number of existing buildings,
including Intermediate Level Maintenance (ILM) facility, Guided Weapon System Program Office (GWSPO), Aircraft Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Section (AMEMS) Workshop, Building 373, Seat bay and Super Hornet Retail Warehouse (SHRW); - Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT) facilities;
- Four-level multi-storey carpark, site works and fire pump house; and
- Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES) facilities in Oakey.
The project, which is nearing completion, has been delivered with great success. Considering the scale of the project, the amount of interaction /
coordination required across multiple design / construction disciplines, as well as the strict time and specification requirements of the Australian Defence Force, this significant achievement has only been achieved through positive collaboration across the entire project team.
In conjunction with the Delamere Redevelopment Project in the Northern Territory, this was the fourteenth major Defence project undertaken by Bonacci Infrastructure, as we continue to deliver high quality designs for the Australian Government – Department of Defence.
