The Mackay Water Recycling Project involved the major upgrade of two sewage treatment plant sites in Mackay, Queensland, Australia. Bonacci Infrastructure delivered the structural design of all the major tanks at both sites, the largest of these being the bioreactor at each location. The bioreactor for Mackay South was 150 x 50 x 5 metres high, and of monolithic, post-tensioned construction.
The project was delivered to the Mackay City Council as a “Design and Construct” contract and had a contract value of approximately $150 million.
