Princes Highway Diversion Bridge over Termeil Creek

Bonacci Infrastructure provided the structural design and temporary works methodology for a modular steel bridge which received diversion traffic from the Princes Highway in New South Wales.

Client: Civil Mining Construction
Location: Termeil, New South Wales, Australia

Bonacci Infrastructure provided the structural design and temporary works methodology for a modular steel bridge which received diversion traffic from the Princes Highway in New South Wales. The temporary bridge comprised three 9.5 metre spans with a steel deck, headstocks and driven piles, and was designed for SM1600 loading in addition to being able to receive a crawler crane and piling rigs.

The modular bridge was originally designed by Bonacci Infrastructure as a crane access platform for the Dusty Rhodes bridge upgrade, where temporary headstocks and deck runway frames were leap-frogged during the construction of the permanent bridge. The versatility of Bonacci Infrastructure’s design meant that only minor modifications were required to re-purpose it for use on the project.
